Background Information Umisen-Yamasen is a UK based all Japanese Manga collective which was established in 2006 through art school friends and a social network website (something like a Japanese version of MySpace). The Umi-Yama members are Chi-tan: specialised in Girls, Yaoi and Bishonen comics/illustrations, Hepi-Ichiko: specialised in fantasy, lolita and horror style comics/illustrations, Inko: Dark humour illustrator and edo-comic artist, Ochi-bo: Unique illustrator and weird creature creator, and Yuki: Moe-kei and Bishojo illustrator. First Umi-Yama kicked off with numerous post card designs, then manga, toy designs, then greeting cards, calender designs and so on. Growing in form. Some of the manga created has been completed in bilingual (English/Japanese), aiming for both audience and people who want to taste different language versions. Other Facts Umisen-Yamasen actively attends a great many Manga/Anime related events from monthly conventions like the LAC (London Anime Club) to massive events such as the London MCM Expo and the IMAF. They also attended COMICA at the ICA and took a part in the 24 Hour Comic day in October 06. Their work can be purchased at these events and also at several comic shops like GOSH!,Orbital Comics, Comicana, Cartoon Museum shop in London and David's Comics in Brighton. |
