Background Information

My artist path into the japanese influenced artwork started back when I was 17 just before I went off to University. My younger brother had gotten himself hooked on Dragonball Z - and he made me watch it too. I remember thinking how awful it was - but it grew on me - and before I knew it I was drawing fanart of the series. Then came the likes of Gundam Wing and RayEarth, both of which have greatly influenced my work. I then branched into creating my own characters, and just practiced alot. I'm completely self taught never having been to a single art class. I lok back and I can see where I have improved which is good.

I started drawing comics in a serious sense about a year ago - when the first RSoM competition for the UK and Ireland started. That competition gave me the kick up the backside that I needed. The thought of doing a fully fledged comic was just too daunting - having the dedication and determination to stick with it, and not give up half way through takes alot out of you - especially if it's a hobby and not a full time job.

Before this, all I had really done was single strips here and there - and some fan-strips too. I did a one-page Christmas Comic of Gundam Wing in MAME many years ago. ^_^;; But now I have my own epic - Zaphron. This is my first real attempt at putting my story onto paper. Drawing comics isn't as easy as you think - it's nothing like drawing one-off pieces of art. So much more effort has to go into a comic - the story, the direction, the flow. I now have two issues of Zaphron completed, and I'm still learning now. You just have to put pencil to paper and do it, otherwise you never will. I've also got two other projects on at the moment - What Comes Around, Goes Around, and Spider. The first is finished and ready to go to print, and Spider is only about half way to being completed.

My favourite type of story would have to be fantasy - Angels, Demons, Monsters and so on, as you can probably already tell.

I am planning on attending lots of future events such as Amecon and Fuyucon to help promote my works to people. Hopefully you will be seeing lots of me in the future! See you there!
