Five years of Sweatdrop StudiosThis week sees Sweatdrop Studios reach it's fifth year as a manga studio, and to celebrate this week they are giving a 25% discount on their comics until the 5th of February 2007. So if you ever wanted to stock up on Sweatdrop comics and graphic novels now is the time. Sweatdrop has grown a great deal in five years; and even more so in the last three. In the time I have known of them, they have gone from producing small comics, to producing graphic novels; and from attending small fan conventions to being a part of larger events like the London MCM Expo. They give talks, and attend many smaller events still. You can even find some of their members signing books at bookshops. I hope their success continues, and you can find many Sweatdrop titles reviewed here on UK MANGA XL. |

UK MANGA XL Events this yearThis year UK MANGA XL plans to host dealers tables at three events this year. Events currently planed on are: London MCM Expo May, on the 26th & 27th of May; Japan Ex on the 14th & 15th of July; and the London MCM Expo in October. Of course other events will be considered if enough people can be found to attend. So far we are fully booked for May, with a double table with eight people attending. Japan EX and London Expo October are still open for people who wish to apply for a place on the tables for those events. October Expo last year was our first event, where we had Three tables and fifteen people selling their own printed comics and artwork. This first event was quite successful and I hope these others this year will be the same. UK MANGA XL UPGRADE COMPLETEThis is the second time since September that the site has had an upgrade. This time rather than just cleaning up the existing pages, this one is made totaly from scratch and whilest it has a similar layout to the last version of the site; there are some differences. All the reviews are now in one list rather than several, i've condensed major series into one page, and there are new forums. Also this time, i have taken the effort go get together as many links as i can find, and have improved the Studio descriptions and of course the artists page. We also have one new review; Blue is for boys and Pink is for girls, by Sweatdrop Studios. |
